Before you begin
Before you can begin accepting live payments in your web shops you need to follow these two steps:
Get a Reepay account and
Get an acquirer agreement.
Step 1 of 2: Get a Reepay account
You can create an account on-line here: https://signup.reepay.com. The account is free and in test-mode so you can test things out, before going "live". Details on how to test can be found here: https://reference.reepay.com/api/#testing
Reepay provides the functionality to accept payments directly in your web shop. You can compare the functionality to a credit card terminal in a physical world - only here we accept payments over the internet instead.
Once you have an account you will have a private API key. The private API key should be kept secret. The API key is needed when you need to make calls to Reepay's API and ensures only you have access to your data.
Step 2 of 2: Get an acquirer agreement
Before you can start accepting live payments you need an agreement with an acquirer.
An acquirer can accepts payments from your customers and will periodically payout the sum to your bank account. Reepay supports a number of acquirers, the most popular being:
- Reepay (VISA, MasterCard)
- Clearhaus (VISA, MasterCard)
- Nets (Dankort, VISA, MasterCard).
A complete list of the acquirers Reepay supports can be found here: https://reepay.com/acquiring/.
